Daycare description / philosophy

Children want to use their imagination, be creative, be active and have fun in a supportive, safe, kind and loving environment.

Hi welcome to House of Mettá's Facebook page. My name is Christina.

My love for children started when I was very young. I remember at age 8 gravitating towards them to hold them and play with them. I knew I was a nurturer at heart. At age 9 I started babysitting for local families and loved it. At age 12 I took the babysitting course and babysat on a more regular basis. At 23 I gave birth to my son and at age 29 I had my daughter. Raising them has been a great joy over the years and I absolutely love being a mother. Professionally I worked in the hospitality and tourism sector for a number of years in restaurants and resorts. The last 8 years I worked as a patient coordinator for a very well respected cosmetic surgeon performing many duties such as pre operative teaching for surgical patients, statistics for the office, managing the website, photography, skincare consultations and much more. Opening my home to care for other children is something I have wanted to do for a very long time. It is easy to do something that is meaningful and something you truly enjoy. Showing and teaching kindness, understanding, respect for others, having patience and having fun are the basis of my care.

Your child's time will be filled with lots of arts, crafts, baking, learning activities, free play time, singing, dancing, story time, walks, just being silly, games, puzzles, picnics, field trips, themed parties & learning about gardening (we have a large vegetable garden in the warmer months). Not only do we have a ton of space to run and play but we also have a new playground.

I have over 24 years experience with children, clean criminal record, Emergency First Aid CPR & AED level B and Food Safe. References are available upon request.

My fees are reasonable and include healthy snacks such as fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, cheese, yogurt, crackers and home made baked goods like muffins and granola bars to name a few.

My home is in a beautiful neighbourhood. Our property is a fully fenced 1/3rd acre corner lot in a quiet, tucked away neighbourhood that happens to be pretty central in location too. I am located close to main artery roads like hwy 10, Fraser hwy, 176 St., 200th street Langley, and not far from hwy 1 or hwy 91 & hwy 99.
